Traveling to Albania was a big eye opener for me. This was the first time flying to the eastern part of Europe, which is significantly different than Western Europe. Be that as it may, I still enjoyed myself. I mostly traveled through Tirana (the countries capital) but I did travel out of the city for a brief moment.
In all, I feel like I did quite a bit during my stay. Some of the things include meeting the U.S. Ambassador, trying out Albanian food, played basketball with the locals and even driving to through the countryside into the neighboring country Kosovo. The countryside is very beautiful with high mountain ranges and fresh air. If you happen to stop in Tirana, I highly recommend you travel out of the city.
