Beckett Simonon – REID SNEAKER

Beckett Simonon – REID SNEAKER

So, I have something to admit; I love white sneakers. I’m not sure if it’s because I never keep my shoes clean as a child or if it’s because white sneakers are a classic that almost never goes out of style. Either way, when Beckett Simonon gave me a pair of REID SNEAKERS sneaker to review, and I jumped at the chance.

First, who is Beckett Simonon? Beckett Simonon is a direct to consumer brand that provides men with handcrafted shoes, bags, and belts at a reasonable price. Their mission is to create a smarter way to shop and manufacture so we can all come out on top. Sounds great, right?!

Beckett Simonon even sent me a step by step order update from start to finish. Included with my order updates were videos of the process like this message from Juan Carlos.

So, what do I like about the shoes? I definitely love the craftsmanship and time put into the product. When you open the box the shoes are covered in a silk-smooth shoe bag. The inside bag includes either extra insoles or additional she laces. The shoe themselves are all white leather with white stitching which makes it easy to pair pops of color. Since we are heading into the Fall season I’m doing a pop with my socks.

Below are some highlights from the REID SNEAKER

  • Handmade in small batches.
  • Extra durable side stitched construction.
  • Full grain leather upper.
  • Full leather lining for extra breathability.
  • Removable cushioned inserts.
  • Folded topline edges.
  • Sturdy yet flexible rubber cupsole.
  • 1 year warranty.

Casio’s Edifice

I’m loving Casio’s Edifice (EQS800CDB-1AV) watch. The stainless steel body is clean without being overly flashy. I found this watch excellent for the person who likes to stay stylish in any setting.

Now that we talked about the look, let’s discuss function. Casio’s Edifice timepieces features include multi-layered dials, world time, daily alarms, water resistants to 100M and more. My favorite feature about the watch is the solar-powered function. If you’re looking for a good idea for Father’s day, this could be it.

Hotel Theodore Seattle

I’m excited to show you all my experience at the luxurious Hotel Theodore Seattle and Rider Restaurant. I love being a tourist in my own city and staying at one of Seattle’s iconic hotels was a great opportunity. Hotel Theodore inhabits a building whose iconic rooftop sign has long been a neon beacon in Seattle’s skyline. The hotel also is located right in the heart of downtown shopping area, so it’s prefect for the holidays. If you check out my video you’ll see details of my room my interaction with hotel staff and all of the delicious food I ate at Rider.

BOSCA STRINGER BAG

BOSCA STRINGER BAG

Presenting the String bag from Bosca. I was asked me to try out there Stringer Bag from Bosca, and it passed with flying colors. To be honest I’ve never used a leather brief before so I was excited to try out a new opportunity.

Bosca is a fine Italian leather company that produces both men’s and women’s leather bags, wallets and totes, among other products. It is a 100-year-old, family-owned brand that prides itself on its passion to craftsmanship and quality.

What I like about the Stringer Bag is all pockets available for organization. I also enjoyed the quality of the leather which gets better with age. You can really tell the amount of craftsmanship that is put into each bag when you pick it up.

TRUMBULL & PORTER HOTEL DETROIT

Let me start the blog by saying you must visit or stay at this hotel when in Detroit. Even though Detroit is where most of my family lives, I like to stay in hotels because it gives me a fresh perspective on how the city has grown. If you walk through the hallways Trumbull and Porter hotel, you can feel the positive youthful energy that’s happening in Detroit. The craftsmanship it took to produce such an aesthetically pleasing hotel is very evident when you notice their comfortable beds, color theme and common areas. One favorite of my things about this hotel is nearly all the work and supplies for the $9 million dollar project was sourced in Detroit.

This hotel is located in Corktown, which is in walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops. This hotel has been open since 2016 but they have made some of the final touches this year by completing a brand new outdoor stage for performers and opening the restaurant Red Dunn Kitchen. As an adding bonus Trumbull and Porter features a bike package where you can rent bikes from Detroit Bike to see the city. I plan on trying this the next time I visit.
