Blue Mosque

Istanbul is now one of my favorite places to visit because of its rich history and mixed influence of cultures. Turkey is located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, which makes it a country of rich and diverse foods. To be honest, Istanbul has some of the best street food I’ve ever tasted. Foods like simit, kabaps, watermelon, chestnuts and fresh roasted corn on the cob were some of my favorite.

Visitors can get around very easily by tram and metro connection, but I recommend walking by foot to take photos of the beautiful scenery. Prices on pretty much everything are inexpensive and if you shop at certain markets you can barter on prices getting an even better deal on your purchases.

I recommend:
Trying Turkish tea
Touring the Blue Mosque
Eating local Kabob
Visit Taksim Square
Visit Bosphorus
Visit the Grand Bazar

CitizenM London Luxury Hotel – Review

June 13, 2014
CitizenM hotel london

The CitizenM London luxury hotel motto is luxury at an affordable price and they are exactly that! With perks like free international calling, free WIFI, high tech rooms and modern design, this place is perfect for the international modern traveler who does want to spend an arm and a leg. CitizenM focuses on art and inspiration displaying images of popular creatives from the past and present all over the walls.

Comfortable lounge area.

Rooms boast touch screen tablets which control room mood lighting, air conditioning, TV, radio and blinds and more. This is the first time personally I’ve seen a hotel that gives you complete room control within a swipe of a screen. Another added bonus of staying at CitizenM is the assortment of multicultural plug outlet to accommodate foreign visitors and self check in and check out kiosks. You can tell the creators spend a lot of time thinking about the personal experience of their users. Check out my Instagram page for action shots of the room.

CitizenM London is located in the Bankside district, which is close to the London Bridge, trendy restaurants and the Tate Modern Museum. If you like unique hotel stays I would definitely recommend staying at one of their many locations around the world. For more photos of this great hotel visit my Flickr page.

Seattle to Portland #PDXANTONIO

January 29, 2014

Great news!

Tomorrow, I go on a train adventure from Seattle to Portland sponsored by, Amtrak Cascades and Timbuk2. If you remember, a few weeks back I introduced you all to the Portland Express. The Portland Express is a special train that rides from Vancouver, Canada to Eugene, Oregon. This is a unique Amtrak train and has been completely redesigned to give you the Portland experience. This experience includes newly upholstered seats, art, food and beverages from beloved Portland retailers.

Starting tomorrow I will be recording video, live tweeting and blogging my way through this two-day adventure in Portland. Who knows exactly what I’ll be seeing but if you have any suggestions please tweet them or message to me. You can follow the hashtag #PDXANTONIO OR #PDXNOW for coverage.

Men’s Fashion Trend Fall 2013: 90’s Grunge Look

October 24, 2013

The 90’s grunge look is one of my favorite Men’s fashion trend for Fall 2013. 90’s grunge includes clothes like, flannel shirts, acid wash jeans, denim jackets, wool sweaters, Converse shoes, toques, boots and black leather jackets. This low-maintenance look will give you a little edge without having to try too hard. The grunge look also gives you tons of layers to take on and off for cold fall situations. If you need more inspiration, think of Kurt Cobain or the 1992 comedy movie Singles. Ahh I love Seattle in the fall, it smells like teen spirit!

Olympus OM-D E-M5

August 29, 2013

You can call me an Olympus fan boy if you want but I really enjoy their cameras. I especially enjoy the AF (auto focus) and size of their micro 4/3 cameras, which are great for on the go and nonintrusive for private occasions. My previous camera the Olympus elp-5, was a joy to use and a great learner tool for prosumers transitioning into a pro DSLR.

My new camera the Olympus OM-D E-M5 has the same sensor as my previous but more beefed out features. Some of these features include a extra battery holder and weather sealed body for a more rugged build. Below I’ve pointed out some of OMD’s highlights.

Highlights of this camera:

  • 16MP MOS Four Thirds format sensor
  • Twin control dials
  • New, ‘5-axis’ image stabilization
  • Shoot at up to ISO 25,600
  • Up to 9fps shooting (4.2 fps with continuous AF)
  • Flipped out display touch screen
  • Weather-sealed body
  • 800×600 pixel (1.44M dot) LCD electronic viewfinder

Big things come in small packages!

November 5, 2012

Big things come in small packages and the Olympus E-pl5 Pen Lite is diffidently a small but powerful camera. I’ll be using it for most of the video and photos you see on this blog. I’ve only had it for about a week and so far I love. The AF is wicked fast and is has a more improved sensor than the epl-1 thru epl-3 . Below are some positives and some negatives about this camera. Watch video footage here: Olympus elp-5 lite

Things I do like:

  • Sturdy metallic body
  • Small body (almost small enough to put in your pocket)
  • Interchangeable lens
  • High ISO (Great for low light situations)
  • Touch screen auto focus and menus
  • Internal filters for post editing

Things I don’t like:

  • Only 1 memory card slot
  • Not weather sealed
  • No mic input
  • No mic volume control when recording
